Aberdeen Group - Derek Brink
Derek Brink joined Aberdeen as a senior high-tech executive experienced in strategy development and execution, corporate / business development, and product management / product marketing. He is a results-oriented leader with a proven track record of driving growth through new and enhanced product offerings, in companies ranging from start-up to Fortune 500. He brings a unique blend of analytical / technical background, combined with excellent communication skills and extensive information security industry expertise.

Before joining Aberdeen, Derek was RSA Security''s vice president of strategy and corporate development, and was earlier the product line director for RSA SecurID. Prior to RSA, his experience includes director of marketing at Gradient Technologies (now Entegrity); various marketing and business development positions with Transarc Corporation (a subsidiary of IBM); corporate marketing with Sun Microsystems; and a variety of technical sales and field marketing positions with Hewlett-Packard. He began his professional career as an analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency.

Derek was an active member of the five-company team that co-founded the PKI Forum, and as RSA Security''s representative was a member of the PKI Forum Executive Board and subsequently the Steering Committee for the OASIS Member Section on PKI. He is co-author of the book PKI: Implementing and Managing E-Security (ISBN: 0072131233).

Derek earned an MBA with honors from the Harvard Business School and a BS in Applied Mathematics with highest honors from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He also holds a second degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.


Bloor Research - Nigel Stanley
Nigel Stanley is a specialist in business technology and IT security. For a number of years Nigel was Technical Director of a leading UK Microsoft partner where he lead a team of consultants and engineers providing secure business IT solutions. This included data warehouses, client server applications and intelligent web based solutions. Many of these solutions required additional security due to their sensitive nature.

From 1995 until 2003 Nigel was appointed as a Microsoft Regional Director, an advisory role to Microsoft Corporation in Redmond in recognition of his expertise in Microsoft technologies and software development tools.

Nigel has previously worked for Microsoft as a systems engineer and product manager specialising in databases and developer technologies. He was active throughout Europe as a leading expert on database design and implementation.
Nigel has written three books on database and development technologies including Microsoft .NET.

He is working on a number of business lead IT assignments and is an executive board member of a number of privately held companies. He has significant experience in security and related activities and is practice leader for security at Bloor Research.
Nigel continues to write many papers and articles on IT. His latest paper for Bloor Research "Securing the Business Infrastructure and the Bloor Assured Business - A Perspective" was published in August 2006.

Enterprise Management Assoicates - Scott Crawford
Scott has more than 15 years of experience in information technologies and industry-wide insight on multiple fronts. An (ISC)2 Certified Information Systems Security (CISSP), Security Architecture (ISSAP) and Security Management (ISSMP) Professional, Scott’s expertise covers a diverse range of interests. He has pioneered implementation and research in multiple fields, from assistive technologies to sophisticated distributed-trust data security architectures to IT service management.

Prior to joining EMA, Scott was the first Information Security Officer for the International Data Centre of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) at the UN’s third headquarters in Vienna, Austria. As the CTBTO’s senior IT security expert, Scott was responsible for guiding the development of information security strategy and implementation for an organization representing more than 150 nations. In addition to establishing the CTBTO’s information risk and security policy foundations, Scott guided the deployment of security management systems and led the development of pioneering technology initiatives, including a worldwide data authentication regime centered on a public key infrastructure for which he was the principal designer and architect.Earlier information technology positions that Scott has held include systems management for a division of the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado, as well as for a division of Emerson. His work with entrepreneurial companies ranges from application development to investor relations.

Freeform Dynamics - Jon Collins
As Service Director, Jon is a member of the Freeform Dynamics management team and is responsible for looking after the company’s portfolio of services and alliances strategy, which are intimately linked given the open collaborative culture of the organisation.

Also an active industry analyst, Jon has an end-user background, having worked as an IT consultant, network manager and software engineer for companies such as Admiral Management Services Ltd, Alcatel and Philips Electronics. Through positions such as these, Jon has accumulated significant real world expertise and experience in many areas of IT service delivery over the years, including IT service management, IT security, infrastructure management, IT architecture and application development.

Jon has worked as an industry analyst since 1999 for companies including IDC, Bloor Research, Quocirca and Macehiter Ward-Dutton. He is a widely published author and has acted as an advisor to leading vendors including Cisco, EMC, IBM and Microsoft; and to large IT user organisations in the Government, Telecommunications and Financial Services sectors.


Forrester – Andrew Jaquith
Andrew serves Security & Risk professionals. He primarily covers data security topics including data leak prevention, encryption, key management, and server virtualization security.

Andrew has 15 years of IT and information security experience. Prior to joining Forrester, he was program manager in Yankee Group's enabling technologies enterprise group, with expertise in client security, portable digital identity, and Web application security.

Before joining Yankee Group, he cofounded and served as program director at @stake, Inc., a security consulting pioneer, which Symantec Corporation acquired in 2004. Before @stake, he held project manager and business analyst positions at Cambridge Technology Partners and FedEx Corporation.

Andrew's security research has been featured in publications such as CIO, CSO, and the IEEE journal Security & Privacy. In addition, he is the codeveloper of the Apache JSPWiki open source wiki software package and the author of the 2007 Addison-Wesley Professional book, Security Metrics: Replacing Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. It has sold more than 10,000 copies and has been praised by reviewers as "sparkling and witty" and "one of the best written security books ever."

Andrew holds a B.A. in economics and political science from Yale University.

Frost & Sullivan - Ariel Avitan
Ariel Avitan is an Industry analyst with the Frost & Sullivan European Information and Communication Technologies Practice. He focuses on monitoring and analyzing emerging trends, technologies and market dynamics in the Information security markets worldwide.

Since joining Frost & Sullivan in January 2008, Mr. Avitan is specializing in Authentication solutions, risk based engines, PKI solutions and access management.

Prior to this, Mr. Avitan was a Product specialist at RSA (The security division of EMC). He brings with him a deep understanding on fraud detection and prevention, authentication processes and knowledge in risk based engine logics and implementation.  


IDC - Eric Domage
Eric Domage covers Western European security research and consulting, specializing in security software, including functional markets such as secure content management, secure vulnerability management, threat management, and identity and access management. He works closely with IDC''s European Security Hardware, European Security Services, and European Security and Product Solutions teams.

He has published studies on global security market sizing and trends, surveys on managed security service providers, and white papers on enterprise rights management. He is a frequent speaker at IT security events and is a member of the IT Security End-User Association.

Kuppinger Cole + Partner - Prof. Dr. Sachar Paulus
Prof. Dr. Sachar Paulus is Senior Analyst at Kuppinger Cole and at the same time CEO of a small, high-profile management consultancy for security. Besides this, he is honorary professor for Security Management at Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences. He is a member of a number of advisory boards, among others, of RISEPTIS, the Advisory Baord for Research and Innovation on Security, Privacy and Trust in the Information Society. He was 8 years with SAP in leading security positions, responsible for Secure Software Development, Security Product Management, and Security of the Corporation (Chief Security Officer).

Ovum - Graham Titterington
Graham Titterington is a principal analyst at Ovum, specialising in IT security and business continuity. With 30 years'' experience in the IT industry, Graham has contributed to a wide range of Ovum''s research, including leading roles in reports on information security, identity management and business continuity in both the enterprise and public sector domains.

Graham advises Ovum''s clients on their strategies in these areas. He advises enterprise and government clients on their objectives, and on the products and technologies that match their processes and requirements. He also uses his expertise to advise vendors on their product and business development strategies.

Graham is regularly quoted in the press, and speaks at security and business continuity conferences.

Prior to joining Ovum, Graham worked on the verification of safety-critical control systems in the aerospace and nuclear power industries. He is a Chartered Engineer.


Quocirca - Bob Tarzey
Bob joined Quocirca in 2002. His main area of coverage is route to market for ITC vendors, but he also has an additional focus on IT security, network computing, systems management and managed services.

Bob writes regular analytical columns for Computing, Computer Weekly, silicon.com and Computer Reseller News (CRN), and has written for The Times, Financial Times and The Daily Telegraph. Bob blogs for Computing, Info Security Advisor and IT-Director.com. He also provides general comment for the European IT and business press.

Bob has extensive knowledge of the IT industry. Prior to joining Quocirca in he spent 16 years working for US technology vendors including DEC (now HP), Sybase, Gupta, Merant (now Serena), eGain and webMethods (now Software AG).

Bob has a BSc in Geology from Manchester University and PhD in Geochemistry from Leicester University.

The 451 Group – Steve Coplan
Steve is a Senior Analyst covering identity and access management for The 451 Group''s Enterprise Security Practice. He focuses on identity issues at the intersection between networks, infrastructure software (particularly virtualization) and mobility.
 
Steve rejoins The 451 Group after serving as director of product marketing at Whale Communications, a secure remote-access vendor acquired by Microsoft. At Whale, he was responsible for implementing the product marketing strategy for a corporate repositioning, and he worked on post-acquisition strategy. Before joining The 451 Group at its inception in April 2000, Steve covered technology and economic trends for European financial newswire AFX News as the San Francisco Bureau Chief. While at AFX, he established and fine-tuned the service''s framework for coverage of US technology companies and established its first office on the US West Coast in 1998.

Steve has a degree in Linguistics and Zulu from the University of Cape Town, where he graduated with honors, and an MA in Journalism from Northwestern University''s Medill School of Journalism.
