Urs Fischer Biog

Urs Fischer is Vice President and Head of IT Governance & Risk Management within the Swiss Life Group since 1st December 2003. Before he worked for 4 years as Head of IT Audit for the SwissLife Audit Department based in Zurich, Switzerland. Since 1989 Urs works in the IT Governance, Audit and Security Areas and has gained during his work extensive IT Governance, Risk management and Information Systems Security experience, especially in the finance and insurance area. Urs is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA Swiss), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) as well as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

Urs is very active in the IT control and security community. His contributions to the profession include amongst others: 8 years on the ISACA Switzerland Chapter Board and membership and/or chairmanship of the program committee for six EuroCACS Conferences. For 4 years Urs was a member of the CobiT Steering Committee and a Co-Author of CobiT 4 and CobiT 4.1. In addition he was one of the main developer of the CobiT Control Practices. At the time being Urs is a Chair of ISACA's/IT Governance Institute's (ITGI) Audit Committee and he chairs the Task Force which develops ITGI’s new ‘Enterprise Risk Mangement Framework (Risk IT)’. He is also a member of ISACA's/ITGI's ''Future Framework'' Task Force.
