Igniting Success: How Eskenzi PR Catapulted International Cyber Expo to Industry Stardom
Challenge
The UK’s leading event and media organisers, Nineteen Group, approached Eskenzi PR to help launch its new cybersecurity tradeshow, International Cyber Expo and establish it as a must-attend fixture in the cybersecurity industry’s annual calendar. Eskenzi PR was tasked with creating a campaign of activity to raise awareness of the show among influential industry figures, including CISOs, CIOs, and Heads of Information Security from enterprises, government entities, critical national infrastructure sectors, and public sector organisations.
Tactics
In the months leading up to International Cyber Expo, Eskenzi PR devised a comprehensive strategy that consisted of rapid response activity, insightful thought leadership content, and a consistently active news schedule to showcase the show’s impressive line-up of talks, demonstrations, and senior-level roundtable discussions. Additionally, a survey was crafted to drive the news agenda and amplify awareness across target media and beyond. Esteemed members of the International Cyber Expo’s advisory council were enlisted to provide expert commentary on emerging cyber news stories. The team also conducted video interviews with a diverse array of speakers, exhibitors, and attendees, bolstering the expo’s ongoing presence on social media and online platforms.
Results
Over 111 pieces of coverage were successfully secured to promote International Cyber Expo’s launch, including prominent features in top tier publications like Computer Weekly, Infosecurity Magazine, SC Magazine, The Daily Swig, and IDG Connect. Interviews were also arranged with titles including IDG Connect, SC Magazine, BetaNews, and IT Security Guru, while thought leadership coverage was featured in Teiss, TechRound, and Spiceworks.
The campaign for the International Cyber Expo proved to be a resounding success, earning it the prestigious title of “Best PR campaign” at the Exhibition News Marketing Awards in 2022.
With PR proving to be a crucial part of Nineteen Group’s strategy for International Cyber Expo, Eskenzi PR, once again, supported the team to create noise around its second year to increase attendee numbers and further solidifying its position in the cybersecurity industry’s annual calendar. In its second year, the PR campaign saw over 207 pieces of coverage secured to promote International Cyber Expo 2023, with national pieces appearing in titles such as The Sun, The Independent, Evening Standard, MSN and Yahoo UK News.
The event, now a staple in the cybersecurity calendar, drew 6,475 visitors from over 80 countries to Olympia London, showcasing an impressive 35% growth in its second year.
