The 2019 RSA Awards

The 2019 RSA show was a fantastic opportunity to see old friends from the cybersecurity industry and as I walked around the booths, it was a delightful surprise to see so many of our clients from Eskenzi PR or our sister agency, Smile on Fridays, winning SC Awards.

I am aware that a huge amount of effort goes into submitting entries to the awards and also into the judging process, with many of the judges who are enterprise CISOs volunteering a considerable amount of their valuable time and energy to the process.

At a recent gathering of a few of our CMO and CISO friends, the subject of the awards came up and one of the CISOs present had been a judge on the SC Awards for the past 15 years. A few of the group members raised some scepticism about awards in general, noting that it seemed to be more about the amount of money that was spent with the organisers.

However, this particular CISO revealed how seriously all of the judges take their responsibilities with the SC Awards specifically, largely because of their peers’ respect for the awards. I have been happily working with many cybersecurity companies over the last 24 years, so it was also exciting that this year SC Magazine took the time to celebrate 30 years in cybersecurity with some special awards at RSA:

Results from the RSA Awards

Amazingly, four out of the five awards for the Most Critical Products/Services in the Last 30 Years were won by our clients, who I would like to congratulate:

  1. Nessus from Tenable
  2. NuDetect from NuData Security, a Mastercard Company
  3. SecurDPS Enterprise from comforte AG
  4. AlienVault USM Anywhere from AT&T Cybersecurity

What a brilliant accolade for each of these companies, some of which we have been working with for over seven years! Looking forward to an exciting year ahead and RSA 2020.
