Wow – What a week! We’ve been pretty busy at Eskenzi with our 7th annual Security Serious Week drawing to a close. We started Security Serious Week back in 2015, with a view to helping make the UK a safer place to do business and raise awareness of important cybersecurity issues as part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

Since then, we have organised conferences in person and run week-long virtual ones, staged photo ops with over 50 companies, shared security tips and best practices, took a stand and educated people about the dangers of disinformation, hosted Tweetchats as well as too many webinars to count and, of course, organised the Security Serious Unsung Heroes Awards for the past six years to recognise all the fantastic people in our industry going above and beyond.

But this year… this year was different. One of our account managers, Rohit, had the biggest of all ideas – why not try to set a Guinness World Record?

So, with the help of our amazing clients and sponsors, KnowBe4 and OneLogin, we set off to try and set the record for the most views of a cybersecurity lesson online in 24 hours. And turns out – I think we’ve done it! Of course, we need to be told officially yet, but as of writing we have had over 1500 views in less than 24 hours.

It’s been such a full-on, but incredible week. With the Security Serious Unsung Heroes Awards taking place for the sixth time in-person at St Bart’s Brewery and getting the chance to honour Colonel John Doody as the Godfather of Security. It was fantastic to see so many people at the awards. Comedian Bennett Arron hosted and brought a great sense of humour to the evening. We also managed to raise an incredible £1400 for the NSPCC through a raffle turned auction (thanks to Jai Singh of 2Sec)!

These moments are why Security Serious Week has become our favourite week of the year. Now the question is: whatever will we come up with for next year??
